Quick answer
Private Spanish lessons for kids in Málaga cost €30 for a single hour at our school, down to €20 an hour on a 30-hour pack, taught one to one at your child's own pace. Younger children learn best through games, songs and short activities; older children can handle a structured lesson with reading, writing and real conversation.

How much do private Spanish lessons for kids cost in Málaga?
On our Málaga prices page, kids one-to-one lessons have their own, lower price scale, separate from the adult private one-to-one Spanish lessons (€35 for a single hour). The price drops the more hours you book.
| Pack | Price | Per hour |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | €30 | €30 |
| 5 hours | €140 | €28 |
| 10 hours | €230 | €23 |
| 20 hours | €420 | €21 |
| 30 hours | €600 | €20 |
There is no enrolment fee and no materials fee: the price you see is the price you pay. Lessons are taught one to one at our Spanish school in Málaga, in La Malagueta, and you choose the start date when you book. A single hour is a sensible way to try a teacher before you commit to a pack; the five-hour and ten-hour packs suit a family testing the water over a school term, while the 20 and 30-hour packs suit a longer stay or a child already committed to learning.
What age are private kids’ lessons for?
Our pricing page describes kids one-to-one lessons simply as one-to-one lessons for children, at their own pace, and it does not give an age range for them. The ages we do publish belong to our group options: the kids camp is for children aged 6 to 12, in summer and winter, and our summer course for teens is for teenagers aged 13 to 17, who join our morning classes at their level. So tell us your child’s age when you write. Because every lesson is one to one, a teacher can judge a specific child rather than apply a rule written for an average one, and we will tell you honestly whether a private lesson, the camp or the teens course fits better.
What does not change with age is the format: your child gets a teacher’s full attention for the whole session, at a pace no group can match. What does change, a great deal, is what that hour should look like.

What works in a private lesson for a younger child?
For a child in the early years of primary school, a good lesson does not open with a textbook. A young child’s attention moves in short bursts, so the lesson is built from several short activities rather than one long one: a song to open, a game with flashcards or objects in the room, a short story read aloud with gestures and repetition, then a simple craft or drawing task where the child names colours, animals or family members in Spanish as they work. Grammar is never explained; it is absorbed through repeated, meaningful phrases the child hears and says many times over several lessons.
The target vocabulary works best narrow and concrete at this age: things a child can point to, touch or act out, such as numbers, colours, animals, food and simple commands (siéntate, mira, vamos). Correction is light and indirect: a teacher repeats the correct form back naturally rather than stopping the child to fix a mistake, because confidence matters more than accuracy in the first year or two. A parent sitting in on a lesson at this age should expect to hear a lot of Spanish from the teacher and short, simple responses from the child, not full sentences.
What changes as children get older?
In the later years of primary school, many children can sit through a more structured hour, and the lesson can look closer to a school lesson, without losing the one-to-one pace that makes private classes worth the price. There is still plenty of speaking practice, but reading and writing enter properly: short texts, simple questions to answer in full sentences, and basic grammar explained directly rather than only absorbed. An older child can also handle an explicit correction (“almost, try again”) without losing motivation, which lets the teacher work faster on accuracy.

This age group is also where a private lesson earns its price most clearly against a group option. A child who is shy in a group, behind their classmates at school Spanish, or simply working at a different pace than their siblings gets a lesson built around exactly where they are, not an average of the group. Our teachers will tell you honestly if your child would in fact do just as well, or better, mixing with other children in our kids camp instead; a private lesson is not automatically the better choice for every child.

Private lessons or our kids camp: which is right for your family?
The camp is for ages 6 to 12, and the honest answer depends on what your child needs more: individual pace or other children to talk to.
| Private kids lessons | Kids camp | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | One to one with a teacher | A group with other children |
| Ages | No range on our pricing page | 6 to 12 |
| Price | €30/h (1h) to €20/h (30h pack) | €225 to €440 a week, 1 to 8 weeks |
| Pace | Entirely built around your child | Shared pace with the group |
| Social practice | Only with the teacher | With other children, in Spanish and in play |
| Best for | A specific gap, a shy child, an irregular schedule, or a parent’s own course running on fixed morning hours | A child who learns well alongside others, and a family wanting a structured day |
You can also combine the two: the camp for the social side and a handful of private hours for whatever the camp’s shared pace does not cover, such as extra reading practice or a head start before the family moves to Málaga. If a parent is taking one of our Intensive group courses (Monday to Friday, 9:30 to 13:30), ask us which camp block (morning, afternoon, evening or full-time) fits around that class: our pricing page names the blocks and their prices, not their clock times. If your child cannot attend at fixed camp hours, has additional needs a group setting would not suit, or you want fewer, more intensive hours rather than a full week, private lessons are the better fit. Ask us honestly which one fits your situation; we would rather tell you the camp is the better choice for your child than sell you private hours that do not suit them.

Does my child need to already speak some Spanish?
No. Private lessons start from zero, and starting from zero is in some ways simpler one to one than in a group, because the teacher is not also managing other beginners at the same time. If your child has studied some Spanish already, whether at school or in a previous trip to Spain, the free level test helps us place the first lesson at roughly the right point, though for younger children the real placement happens in the first class itself, where the teacher adjusts in real time based on how your child responds. There is no wrong starting point: the lesson is built around wherever your child actually is, not where a textbook chapter says a child their age should be.

How is a private lesson for a child planned?
On our private lessons page, one-to-one classes are planned by the teacher together with our Academic Director, who helps prepare the materials and checks in with the teacher after every class so later classes can be adjusted. Our pages do not describe a separate method for children, so treat what follows as guidance rather than a published programme. Because it is one to one, a teacher can notice quickly if an activity is not landing, whether that is boredom, a concept that needs a different explanation, or simply a bad day, and change course inside the lesson itself. The principles are simple: follow the child, keep the language concrete and repeated with younger children, and move towards reading, writing and real conversation as the child’s attention span and school literacy allow.
What do parents ask before booking?
Three practical situations, and how we would plan for each, beyond the FAQ below. If you are not in Málaga yet and are booking ahead of a family trip, write to us with your child’s age and roughly what Spanish they already have, and we will suggest a pack size rather than leave you guessing. If you are already living in Málaga and your child is starting at a local school, the smaller packs (5 or 10 hours) can run alongside the school term, timed around homework and the school calendar rather than a single intensive week. And if you are unsure whether your child will sit still for a full hour, start with a single hour: it costs €30, and your teacher will tell you afterwards, honestly, whether a longer pack or shorter, more frequent sessions would work better for your child.
Frequently asked questions
What age can my child start private Spanish lessons in Málaga?
Our pricing page does not set an age range for kids one-to-one lessons, so tell us your child’s age and a teacher will advise whether a private lesson suits them yet. The ages we do publish are for our group options: the kids camp is for children aged 6 to 12, and the summer course for teens is for ages 13 to 17.
Is a private lesson better than a kids camp for a young child?
It depends on your child. A private lesson gives your child a teacher’s full attention and a pace built only around them, which suits a shy child, a specific gap, or an irregular schedule. The kids camp, from €225 a week, adds the social side of learning alongside other children, which some children need more than individual pace. You can also combine the two.
How long is a private Spanish lesson for a child?
Kids lessons are sold by the hour, in packs of 1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 hours. Tell us your child’s age when you book and ask how best to schedule the hours around their attention span and school week. If you are unsure, a single trial hour costs €30.
Can my child start with no Spanish at all?
Yes. Private lessons are designed to work from zero, and a complete beginner is often easier to teach one to one than in a group, since the lesson does not need to manage several beginners at different speeds at once. The first lesson itself is where the teacher finds your child’s actual starting point.
Does my child need to already read and write?
No, especially for younger children. Lessons for them lean on speaking, listening, songs and games rather than reading or writing, and reading and writing enter the lesson progressively as your child’s own reading and writing at school develop.
What happens if we need to reschedule or my child is unwell?
Our private lessons page lets you move a one-to-one class to a later date if you give us at least 24 hours’ notice. Our pricing page does not repeat that rule for the kids packs, so confirm it for your child’s pack when you book.
Do private kids’ lessons include a certificate?
Yes. Our pricing page lists a certificate of attendance at the end of the course among the free services included in every price. It records that your child attended; it is not an official exam result.
How much does a 10-hour pack of private Spanish lessons for a child cost?
€230, which works out at €23 an hour. The price drops further at 20 hours (€420, €21 an hour) and 30 hours (€600, €20 an hour), and a single trial hour costs €30.
Can my child combine private lessons with the kids camp in the same stay?
Yes. One option is the camp for the structured day and the company of other children, with a handful of private hours added for a specific need, such as extra reading practice or review before returning to school.
Is there a minimum number of hours we have to book?
No. You can book a single hour for €30 with no commitment beyond it. The packs exist because the per-hour price drops the more you book, not because a minimum is required.
Ready to book your child’s first lesson?
Take the free level test if your child already has some Spanish, or simply book private lessons for your child and tell us their age and level when you arrive. Still deciding between private lessons and our kids camp? Ask us on WhatsApp and a teacher will tell you honestly which fits your child.
