How much do our private Spanish lessons cost in Málaga?
On our own private one-to-one Spanish lessons page, the price drops as you book more hours. There is no enrolment fee and no materials fee: the price you see is the price you pay.

| 1 hour | €35 | €35 |
| 5 hours | €160 | €32 |
| 10 hours | €300 | €30 |
| 20 hours | €560 | €28 |
| 30 hours | €780 | €26 |

Every lesson is one to one with your own teacher, at our school in La Malagueta, booked Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 20:00, in sessions of 1 to 3 hours. You choose the pace, from an occasional top-up lesson to 30 classes a week, and the goal: everyday Spanish, work Spanish, DELE or SIELE preparation, or vocabulary for your own field. Public holidays do not cancel a lesson: we book around the closed day instead, so your hours are never lost. A single hour is the right choice if you want to try a teacher before committing; the packs exist because the per-hour price keeps falling the more you book, down to €24 an hour at 50 hours.

How much do private Spanish lessons for kids cost?
For children, our kids one-to-one lessons run on their own, lower price scale, taught at the child’s own pace.
| Pack | Price | Per hour |
|---|---|---|
| 1 hour | €30 | €30 |
| 5 hours | €140 | €28 |
| 10 hours | €230 | €23 |
| 20 hours | €420 | €21 |
| 30 hours | €600 | €20 |
Families travelling with teenagers more often ask about our summer course for teens, where 13 to 17 year olds study Spanish every morning and live with a local host family; ask us which private price applies if you want one-to-one lessons for a teenager.

How much does one-to-one business Spanish cost?
If your goal is work Spanish rather than general conversation, our business Spanish one-to-one packs follow a dedicated curriculum of 5 blocks of 10 hours each, from first meetings to leading them, starting at level A2.
| Pack | Price | Per hour |
|---|---|---|
| 10 hours | €300 | €30 |
| 20 hours | €580 | €29 |
| 30 hours | €840 | €28 |
| 40 hours | €1,080 | €27 |
| 50 hours | €1,300 | €26 |
The price per hour matches the general pack at 10 hours and is €1 to €2 higher from 20 hours, for a curriculum built around specific business tasks: e-mails, calls, presentations, negotiation and your own sector. Business pack prices apply Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00. For two or more colleagues, the Teams rate is €20 an hour per person, on one invoice to the company, which is worth asking about if you are booking for a team rather than yourself.
How much does a freelance tutor in Málaga cost?
We looked at Apprentus, a marketplace that lists independent tutors across Málaga, on 28 October 2026. At that date it listed 170 private tutors in Málaga across all subjects; the Spanish tutors shown were priced from €13 to €36 for a 60-minute lesson, some in person in the city and some online. Profiles differ in training, experience and teaching style, so read each tutor’s qualifications, reviews and lesson plan before you book.
A freelance tutor at the lower end of that range can be the cheapest way to get occasional speaking practice, especially if your goal is loose and you are comfortable choosing and vetting a tutor yourself. What a marketplace does not provide on its own is a school’s structure: an academic director checking that the plan tracks your level against the CEFR, a documented record of your progress, and another teacher if yours becomes unavailable. Good tutors often build some of this themselves; you simply have to check. See how Apprentus listed Málaga tutors on Apprentus.com, Málaga private lessons on 28 October 2026 (prices change, so check the live page before you decide).

How much does an online tutor from a marketplace cost?
Online marketplaces widen the range further because they draw tutors from every country, not just Málaga. italki’s own guide to Spanish tutor pricing, which we read on 28 October 2026, sorts lesson budgets into bands: about $4 to $15 an hour for native speakers focused on conversation, $15 to $25 for a mix of credentials, and $25 to $60 for structured lessons from teachers with a formal teaching background. The same guide puts online lessons at 10 to 30% less per hour than in-person equivalents. See italki’s guide to Spanish tutor cost, read on 28 October 2026, for the full breakdown; it does not give a Spain-specific figure, only this general online range.
Online tutoring suits two situations well: a trial run before you commit to in-person lessons, or ongoing practice once you have left Málaga and want to keep your Spanish active. It does not replicate what an in-person course adds on top of the lesson itself: a fixed classroom, a teacher you meet in person, and a city where you can use the Spanish you just learnt at the till, the bar and the beach ten minutes later.
School, freelance tutor or online: which is cheaper for what you need?
Put side by side, the three options do not compete on price alone; they compete on what the price includes.
| Option | Typical price seen | What you get beyond the lesson |
|---|---|---|
| Our school, Málaga | €24 to €35/h (pack size) | Academic Director oversight, CEFR-tracked certificate, weekly activities, a classroom |
| Spanish tutors, Apprentus Málaga (28 Oct 2026) | €13 to €36/h (profiles shown) | Depends on the individual tutor; no school-wide oversight |
| Online, italki price guide (28 Oct 2026) | about $4 to $60/h | Depends on tutor type (community or professional); no in-person immersion |
A freelance tutor is genuinely the better choice when your goal is narrow and low-stakes: refreshing rusty Spanish before a holiday, occasional conversation practice, or a single skill you can describe in one sentence to a stranger on a marketplace listing. It is also the right call if you are not in Málaga at all and want to study from home at a time of your choosing. Where it tends to cost you more than it saves is when you need your progress to add up to something documented (for a university, an employer or an exam), when you want a plan that adjusts as you go rather than a series of unconnected hours, or when a tutor cancels and you have no school behind them to find you another. Our packs (€24 to €35 an hour) sit inside the €13 to €36 range of the Apprentus Spanish tutors we saw, with that structure included in the price.

Is a group course cheaper than private lessons?
Usually, if your goal is general progress rather than something specific. Our Intensive group course is 20 hours a week, Monday to Friday, in groups of 3 to 5 students on average, never more than 7: 4 weeks costs €740, which works out at €9.25 a class hour, well below any private pack. Private lessons cost more per hour because every minute of the class is yours alone; a group spreads the teacher’s time, and therefore the price, across several students.
The two are not really substitutes, though. A group moves you through a shared curriculum at a shared pace and gives you other learners to practise with outside class. Private lessons adapt entirely to your own level, pace and goal, which matters when your timetable is irregular, your goal is specific (an exam, a job, a sound you cannot shift), or no group at your level is running that week. You can also combine both: our Super Intensive course adds 5 private hours a week to the same group course for €99 more a week, €19.80 per private hour, below any standalone private pack.
How many private lessons do you actually need?
That depends entirely on your pace, so our private lessons page gives a reference table at 10 class hours a week rather than a single number, which you can speed up or slow down as you choose.
| Level | Class hours | Self-study | Estimated duration at 10 h/week |
|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | 80 h | 40 h | 8 weeks |
| A2 | 80 h | 40 h | 8 weeks |
| B1 | 120 h | 60 h | 12 weeks |
| B2 | 120 h | 60 h | 12 weeks |
| C1 | 120 h | 60 h | 12 weeks |
| C2 | 140 h | 60 h | 14 weeks |
The full A1 to C2 path at that reference pace is 660 hours of class plus 320 hours of supervised independent study, 980 hours in total, which sits inside the 900 to 1,000 hours the Instituto Cervantes recommends for the whole journey. At a more intensive pace, the same levels come faster; the hours themselves do not change. You do not have to commit to the full path: a pack of 5, 10 or 20 hours fits a specific stretch, such as preparing for an exam, a block of weeks before a move or a skill you want to fix.
What does the price include, and what does it not?
Every pack above includes all class materials, a free level test before you start, a certificate of attendance at the end (85% minimum attendance), and access to our free weekly activities: a flamenco introduction, a workshop, an old town tour and more, in a given week. It does not include DELE or SIELE exam registration, which is paid directly to the exam centre and is separate from the preparation lessons on our DELE and SIELE preparation page, nor accommodation or an airport transfer, both of which you can add on our prices page alongside your course.
One practical point worth knowing before you book: if you reschedule a private lesson with at least 24 hours’ notice, it moves to a later date rather than being lost. That flexibility is part of why private lessons cost more per hour than a group place, not an extra fee on top of it.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a private Spanish lesson in Málaga?
With us, a single hour is €35, falling to €24 an hour if you book a 50-hour pack. Spanish tutors listed on Apprentus in Málaga showed €13 to €36 an hour when we checked on 28 October 2026, and italki’s price guide puts online lessons at about $4 to $60 an hour, depending on the tutor’s training.
Is a freelance tutor cheaper than a language school?
Sometimes, at the low end of the range, but not always: the lowest-priced Spanish tutors on Apprentus (€13 an hour) undercut our packs, while the highest (€36 an hour) cost more than our single hour (€35) and well above our 50-hour rate of €24 an hour. A freelance tutor suits a narrow, low-stakes goal; a school adds oversight, a documented certificate and a classroom, which matters for anything you need to show to an employer or a university.
Are online Spanish lessons cheaper than in-person ones?
Often, yes. italki’s own pricing guide puts online lessons at 10 to 30% less per hour than in-person equivalents, with conversation tutors from $4 an hour. The trade-off is that you lose the immersion of being in Málaga, where you use the Spanish from your lesson in a shop or at the beach the same afternoon.
How much does a 10-hour pack of private Spanish lessons cost?
Our general 10-hour pack is €300 (€30 an hour). A 10-hour business Spanish pack is also €300. A 10-hour kids one-to-one pack is €230.
Do private lessons include a certificate?
Yes. Every pack includes a Vamos Academy certificate documenting your hours and your progress against the CEFR, provided you attend at least 85% of your booked lessons.
Can I mix a group course with private lessons?
Yes. Our Super Intensive course combines 20 group hours a week with 5 private hours for €99 a week more than Intensive, and you can also add a standalone private pack to any group course for a specific need, such as exam preparation.
Do private lesson prices include exam registration?
No. Our private lesson prices cover the teaching hours only. DELE and SIELE exam fees are paid directly to the exam centre, separately from your preparation lessons.
What happens to my private lessons on a public holiday?
Nothing is lost. Private lessons are booked around closed days rather than cancelled, so a holiday simply moves the session rather than removing it.
Is it cheaper to book a single hour or a pack?
A pack, if you already know you will take more than one or two lessons: the per-hour price drops at every pack size, from €35 for a single hour to €24 an hour at 50 hours. A single hour makes sense mainly as a trial before you commit to a pack.
How do I know how many hours I need?
Take the free online level test to see your starting point, then our Academic Director will suggest a pack based on your goal and your pace. As a general reference, our own course plan estimates 980 total hours (including self-study) for the full A1 to C2 path at a steady 10-hour-a-week pace, though you can book a shorter block for one specific goal.
