A week of things to do in Málaga

As part of our immersion experience, cultural workshops and activities are offered weekly to all enrolled Vamos Spanish Academy Students.

In addition, there are always events going on in our beautiful city that students often explore as a group.

Whether you're visiting Malaga for just a brief week or have the luxury of spending months here, you'll find no shortage of captivating activities and experiences to explore in this vibrant city. We keep our students informed about the numerous annual festivals, special events, and street fairs that take place throughout the year. Additionally, you can opt for organized tours and activities, allowing experts to guide you through various local adventures while you sit back and enjoy. From gastronomy to cycling, from football to flamenco, there's something for everyone. While most activities are available year-round, some are seasonal.

One of our most popular activities is learning how to prepare a Spanish tortilla de patatas, a classic dish made with eggs, potatoes, and onions. Students gather in the kitchen to chop, stir, and cook together, while practicing Spanish vocabulary related to food and cooking. The result is not only a delicious tortilla to share, but also a fun cultural experience that brings classmates closer and connects language learning with everyday Spanish traditions.

Cultural Workshops at Vamos Academy Málaga:

Our cultural workshops are held weekly and are included in your tuition fees. They’re designed to help students practice Spanish in real‑life contexts, connect with classmates, and experience the culture of Málaga. Participation requires RSVP, simply send us an email or let your teacher know you’d like to join.

• Making Salmorejo Discover the secrets of this refreshing Andalusian recipe, perfect for summer, and enjoy the cultural exchange that comes with cooking together.
• Outing to the Picasso Museum Explore the works of Málaga’s most famous artist, Pablo Picasso, while engaging in conversations about art, history, and Spanish culture.
• Movie Day & Debate Watch a Spanish film with classmates, then join a guided discussion to practice listening, speaking, and critical thinking in Spanish.
• Lunch Day with Teachers & Students Share a meal in a relaxed setting, strengthen bonds with teachers and peers, and practice Spanish in everyday conversation.
• Celebrating Traditional Festivals Join us in celebrating Carnaval, Christmas, and other local festivities, experiencing authentic traditions alongside your classmates.
