How we work · Vamos Málaga
About Vamos Málaga

How we work

Choosing a Spanish school is a big decision. So before you enrol, we want to tell you how we behave in the small things — the ones that, more often than not, turn out to matter the most. Here are seven of them.

7 things that matter to us

All the important information about the school — courses, prices, calendar, accommodation and enrolment conditions — is available in at least Spanish and English. For our main markets, we also prepare materials in German, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese, which we distribute through our network of agents in each country.

We don't use unreviewed machine translation. Every version is written or revised by a native speaker of that language. If you've made it this far in a language that isn't your own and something doesn't quite read right, drop us a line — it's the best way to help us improve.

The photos, videos, testimonials and figures on this site reflect Vamos Málaga as it really is. Our classes have a maximum of 5 students; our intensive courses run for twenty hours a week; and our teaching staff hold degrees in Spanish Philology, Applied Linguistics or related fields, with specific training in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

When something changes — prices, schedules, facilities — we update it here as soon as it takes effect. If you come and visit, you'll find the school you saw online. Not bigger, not smaller, not different.

If you see the logo of an association, certification or accreditation anywhere on the site, you can click on it and go straight to the issuing body to check for yourself what it means and what it requires. We only display badges that are currently valid. You won't find logos here from bodies we no longer belong to, or from any we haven't joined yet.

Every affiliation or accreditation we mention has been authorised by the organisation that owns the badge, and you can verify it on their own website. It's the most direct way for you to know what stands behind us — without having to take our word for it.

If a school teaches Spanish, the least you can ask is that it writes Spanish well. We go a little further than that: every piece of text on this site, on our social media and in our printed materials passes through a native speaker's hands before it's published.

Spanish copy is reviewed by our academic team — all of them qualified in Philology, Applied Linguistics or related fields. The English, German, French and Italian versions are handled by professional translators with experience in the education sector. We keep a short in-house style guide so that tone and terminology stay consistent across every channel. If you spot a typo, we'll always be grateful.

On every course page, the first thing you'll see — clearly and before anything else — is duration, weekly hours, CEFR levels accepted, maximum class size, full price and exactly what that price includes. Cancellation terms, refund deadlines, visa requirements and accommodation details all live in their own sections, accessible from the main navigation.

The site works on mobile, tablet and desktop, and follows international web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 Level AA) so that anyone — including people using screen readers or navigating by keyboard alone — can get the information they need and enrol without barriers. If something still isn't clear, our FAQs cover the most common questions; and if there's anything left, we're a message away.

Every image of classrooms, facilities, teachers or students you see on our site was taken right here, at our school in Málaga, during everyday life on campus. We don't use generic stock images to represent what we do.

When someone — a student, or a member of the team — appears in a recognisable way, it's always after signing a specific image-release authorisation, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation. That authorisation spells out the intended uses, the channels, and, importantly, how to request the removal of the image if the person changes their mind later on. We handle those requests within five working days.

Every year, Vamos welcomes people from many different countries, of many ages, and with many reasons to learn Spanish. We try to make sure our communication reflects that reality: our images show the real diversity of our student body, we steer clear of stereotypes about any community — starting with Spanish-speaking ones — and we talk about Spanish as what it is: a language where cultures meet.

In our cultural activities, in what happens in the classroom, and in how we treat you at reception, we work with the same idea at the back of everything we do: you belong here, wherever you're from. If at any point you feel we're not living up to that, we want to hear about it.

Still have questions?

Drop by the school or write to us

We've tried to answer here the questions we hear most often before people enrol. If something's missing, we're in Málaga Monday to Friday, and we reply to emails first thing the next day. No forms, no middlemen.

MALAGA Frequently Asked Questions

Reasons to Learn Spanish in Malaga?

Ever thought about learning Spanish in a place that’s as vibrant and sunny as Málaga? Let me tell you, this city is more than just a pretty face on the Spanish coast. It’s actually one of the best spots you could choose if you’re serious about diving into the Spanish language and culture. Whether you’re strolling through its historic streets or soaking up the sun on one of its beautiful beaches, Málaga offers an immersive experience that goes beyond the classroom.

Imagine this: you start your day with Spanish classes in Málaga, where passionate Spanish teachers make the language come alive. These aren’t just any classes—they’re part of an immersion experience that lets you practice what you learn right away. Maybe you’ll grab a coffee in a cozy café and chat with the barista, or you’ll find yourself in a lively conversation with locals at the market. The city itself becomes your practice ground, and trust me, the locals are more than happy to help you out with a few new phrases.

Málaga is rich in history and culture, which means there’s always something to explore after your Spanish school sessions. You could visit the Picasso Museum, wander through the Alcazaba, or just enjoy the art of people-watching in the old town. Plus, with nearly 320 sunny days a year, the weather here is practically begging you to spend time outdoors, blending your learning with some leisure.

One of the best parts about learning Spanish in Málaga is how affordable it can be. Compared to bigger cities like Madrid or Barcelona, Málaga offers a lower cost of living, so you can enjoy all the benefits of living and studying in Spain without breaking the bank. And whether you’re staying in a shared flat in the heart of the city or a private studio near the beach, you’re never too far from your next adventure.

If you're into festivals, Málaga has you covered too. The city comes alive with events like the Feria de Agosto and Carnaval de Málaga, where you can dive into local traditions, taste authentic food, and even try your hand (or feet) at some Flamenco dancing. These experiences aren't just fun—they’re another chance to practice your Spanish in real-world settings.

Choosing a Spanish school in Málaga like Vamos Academy means you’re getting more than just language lessons. You’re signing up for an experience that blends education with the rich culture of Andalusia. With experienced Spanish teachers guiding you, your language skills will grow alongside your appreciation for everything this city has to offer.

So, if you’re considering where to learn Spanish, think about what kind of experience you want. In Málaga, you get the perfect mix of education, culture, and fun. It’s not just about sitting in a classroom; it’s about living the language every day. And trust me, by the time you’re done, you won’t just be speaking Spanish—you’ll be living it.

What criteria do we use for course certification and what is its validity?

Upon completing your course at ¡VAMOS! Academy Málaga, you will receive a certificate of achievement that confirms your participation and progress. The criteria for its issuance are:

  • Minimum 80% attendance of the contracted course hours.
  • Completion of the activities planned in the corresponding level program (CEFR A1 to C2).
  • Continuous assessment by the teaching team.

The certificate specifies the CEFR level achieved and the number of class hours.

This is a private certificate issued by the center, not an official qualification from the Instituto Cervantes or the Spanish Ministry of Education. If you need an internationally recognized official title, we recommend the DELE (Instituto Cervantes) or SIELE exams, for which we also offer specific preparation at the center.

Join us and experience the benefits of our small class sizes, which can help you achieve your language learning goals more efficiently and effectively.

What are the qualifications and experience of your teachers?

Our Spanish language instructors are all native speakers with university degrees in teaching Spanish as a foreign language or linguistics. How do you determine which level of Spanish class I should enroll in?

At Vamos, we use a personalised approach to language learning. All new students take a comprehensive placement test, which is reviewed by our academic coordinator, to determine their current level of Spanish proficiency. We also offer an in-person oral exam to gain a better understanding of each student's language abilities. Based on the results, we place students into the appropriate level of classes to ensure that our students receive instruction that challenges and supports their language learning goals.

Do you offer accommodation options for students?

Immerse yourself in the local culture by staying with a host family. We offer two options: home-stay accommodation with meals and home-stay accommodation without meals. If you choose the option without meals, you are more than welcome to use the facilities to make your own food.

At Vamos Academy, we understand that language learning is not just about memorising grammar rules and vocabulary. That's why we offer a wide range of activities that promote a culturally rich experience and motivate students to practice their language skills outside of class. From flamenco classes to cultural workshops, conversation clubs, Spanish culinary class, excursions, and much, much more, our academy provides an immersive learning environment that brings the language to life. Our goal is to help students not only improve their language proficiency but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture that surrounds it. Come join us and experience the joy of language learning in a fun and dynamic setting!
