Quick answer
Our one-week business Spanish course in Spain, the Intensive + Business week in Málaga, is 30 lessons of 45 minutes, not 30 clock hours: 20 in a small group each morning and 10 one-to-one each afternoon on Spanish for work. It costs €350 for one week or €650 for two, at levels A1 to C2.

What exactly do you get in a week of Intensive + Business?
Our Business Spanish page lists this course as group classes in the morning plus business Spanish one-to-one in the afternoon, Monday to Friday, and the timetable on our Bildungsurlaub page, which uses the same week, gives the exact unit: 30 lessons of 45 minutes, breaks not counted, not 30 clock hours. Twenty of those lessons are general Spanish in a small group each morning, 9:30 to 13:30. Ten are one-to-one in the afternoon, 14:00 to 16:00, on Spanish for your job. One lesson is 45 minutes of teaching time, a detail worth knowing before you plan your travel days around it.
One week costs €350. Two weeks, back to back, cost €650 (60 lessons total), a saving of €50 against two separate weeks. There is no enrolment fee, no materials fee and no placement test fee: the price you see is the price you pay. Both weeks run at our school in La Malagueta, two minutes from the beach, in groups of 3 to 5 students on average and never more than 7.

Who is the Intensive + Business week actually for?
Our Business Spanish page names five groups its courses are built for, and the Intensive + Business week is one of the ways each of them can study with us:
- Professionals moving to Málaga who need to work in Spanish from the first week.
- Managers and sales teams who run meetings or calls with Spanish clients and partners.
- Founders and remote workers who pitch, network and sign contracts in Spain.
- Tourism, hospitality and real estate staff who deal with Spanish customers every day.
- German employees on Bildungsurlaub who want a week of Spanish for work, covered in detail further down.
Our Bildungsurlaub page lists the levels for this week as “A1 complete beginner to C2”, with a free online level test before you arrive, and the afternoon topics are taught in Spanish at your level. Our Business Spanish page sets A2 as the starting point for its one-to-one business hours (packs of 10 to 50 hours, from €26 an hour), and complete beginners there start with general private lessons. If you are a complete beginner and your goal is Spanish for work, take the level test and tell us your goal before you book, so we can confirm which route fits you.

What does a day in the Intensive + Business week look like?
Each day has the same two-block shape. The morning is a small group following our regular Intensive course plan: grammar, speaking, listening and vocabulary at your level, with other students, from 9:30 to 13:30. The afternoon is one-to-one, from 14:00 to 16:00, and a teacher works only with you on that day’s topic, building directly on the vocabulary you just used that morning.
The one-to-one lessons are the part that makes this course different from a general Intensive week. Three things happen there that a group of four or five cannot give an individual student: your pronunciation gets corrected before a mistake becomes a habit, the vocabulary is for your own sector rather than a generic list, and you speak in full sentences without anyone waiting for you to find a word.
What does a sample week look like, day by day?
The table below is an example, not a fixed syllabus: it is the sample week published on our Bildungsurlaub page. The afternoons are always Spanish for work built around a daily topic, taught in Spanish at your level, and this is how one week of those topics is laid out there:
| Day (example week) | 9:30 to 13:30: small group (4 lessons) | 14:00 to 16:00: one-to-one (2 lessons), daily topic |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | General Spanish at your CEFR level: grammar, speaking, listening, vocabulary | Work and the economy in Andalusia |
| Tuesday | General Spanish at your level, next unit | Society, migration and everyday life in Spain |
| Wednesday | General Spanish at your level, next unit | Politics, regions and public administration in Spain |
| Thursday | General Spanish at your level, next unit | Intercultural communication at work: meetings, phone calls, e-mails |
| Friday | General Spanish at your level, with a review of the week | Presentation on your topic, feedback, review and level check |
Our Business Spanish page also lists visits to local businesses as part of the Intensive + Business week, and our Bildungsurlaub page lists a weekly cultural activity among what is included. If you book two weeks, our Bildungsurlaub page says week 2 takes the same topics into your own sector (your vocabulary, a mock meeting, a short presentation) and ends with a written progress report.

How does this compare with a business pack or Intensive alone?
It helps to see the Intensive + Business week next to the two courses it borrows from, for the same one-week stay.
| Course (1 week) | Group lessons | One-to-one | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intensive alone | 20 hours a week | 0 | €200 |
| Super Intensive | 20 hours a week | 5 one-to-one hours | €299 |
| Intensive + Business | 20 lessons (45 min) | 10 lessons (45 min) | €350 |
| Business, Focus pack alone | 0 | 10 hours (60 min) | €300 |
The units differ because each page uses its own: Intensive and Super Intensive are described in hours, the Focus pack in one-hour lessons, and Intensive + Business in 45-minute lessons, the unit its German documents use. Compare what each week gives you (group time, one-to-one time and price) rather than the unit labels. Intensive + Business sits between Super Intensive and the standalone Business pack, and the choice usually comes down to what you need the one-to-one time for. Super Intensive’s five private hours are general purpose, at times you agree with your teacher. The 10 one-to-one lessons inside Intensive + Business are Spanish for work, built around a daily topic, as in the sample week above. If you only want one-to-one business hours with no morning group at all, the 10-hour Focus pack from our Business Spanish page is cheaper, but you lose the general-Spanish foundation the mornings give you, and those hours run in sessions of 1 to 3 hours rather than a fixed daily slot.
Can German employees take this week as Bildungsurlaub?
Yes. This is the same course German employees use for Bildungsurlaub, their paid educational leave, and it is recognised in 14 German states, every state except Bavaria, which has no Bildungsurlaub law, and Saxony, where the new law starts in 2027. We send the proof of recognition for your state before you pay anything, and you book only after your employer has said yes. The exact rule, deadline and status for your own state are in the state table on our Bildungsurlaub page; check it before you apply, since deadlines run from 4 to 9 weeks before the course depending on the state.
North Rhine-Westphalia and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are both on that recognised list too. For both, your employer may check that state’s own rules for courses abroad, so apply early; we send the recognition proof for your state before you pay. We cannot promise that your employer will approve your application, but the state table tells you openly where a Spanish course in Spain is not possible.

What does the Intensive + Business week cost with accommodation?
Accommodation is added on top of the course price, and you can book course and stay together in one checkout. Using the homestay and residence prices from our Málaga prices page, here is what one week actually costs in total, with an optional €65 airport transfer:
| Package (1 week) | Course | Accommodation | Transfer | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Intensive + Business + student residence, double room | €350 | €220 | €65 | €635 |
| Intensive + Business + homestay, double room | €350 | €239 | €65 | €654 |
| Intensive + Business + student residence, single room | €350 | €285 | €65 | €700 |
| Intensive + Business + homestay, single room | €350 | €290 | €65 | €705 |
A one-bedroom apartment is also available on request, from €400 a week, for professionals who would rather stay independently than share a homestay or residence. Homestays run from the Sunday before your course to the Saturday after, and our homestay page has the full list of rooms and what is included. If you book two weeks instead of one, the course itself is €650 and accommodation is simply charged for the extra week.
What do you get at the end of the week?
On your last day, the school gives you a certificate of attendance recording your lessons and your level, signed by the school. It is useful proof that you took the course, including for an employer who granted you Bildungsurlaub or training leave, but it is a certificate of attendance, not an official language diploma.
If you want an official qualification afterwards, or want to keep building business Spanish beyond one week, the one-to-one business packs on our Business Spanish page continue from 10 to 50 hours, each ending with a Vamos Academy certificate recording your hours and your progress against the CEFR descriptors. From there, you can also prepare the DELE or the Madrid Chamber of Commerce business certificates through our DELE and SIELE exam preparation, one-to-one at €35 an hour. Neither is included in the Intensive + Business week itself; they are the next step once you know you want to go further.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Intensive + Business week 30 hours or 30 lessons?
It is 30 lessons of 45 minutes, breaks not counted, not 30 clock hours. Twenty are small-group lessons in the morning (9:30 to 13:30) and 10 are one-to-one lessons in the afternoon (14:00 to 16:00). Measured in clock time, that is a shorter block than a 30-hour week would be, so plan your travel around the stated times, not around “30 hours”.
How much does the Intensive + Business week cost?
€350 for one week (5 days, 30 lessons) or €650 for two weeks (10 days, 60 lessons), a saving of €50 against booking two single weeks. There is no enrolment, materials or placement test fee.
Can a complete beginner take the Intensive + Business week?
Our Bildungsurlaub page lists this week from A1 (complete beginner) to C2, with a free level test before you arrive, and the afternoon topics are taught in Spanish at your level. Our standalone business one-to-one packs start at A2, so if you are a complete beginner aiming at Spanish for work, tell us your level and goal before you book and we will confirm the right route.
What do the afternoons actually cover?
One-to-one Spanish for work, built around a daily topic about work, society and politics in Spain. In the sample week on our Bildungsurlaub page, that is the economy in Andalusia, society and everyday life, politics and public administration, intercultural communication at work, and a presentation with feedback on Friday. In a two-week course, week 2 applies the topics to your own sector.
Can German employees use this week for Bildungsurlaub?
Yes, this is the same course used for Bildungsurlaub, recognised in 14 German states (every state except Bavaria and Saxony). We send the recognition proof for your state before you pay, but you book only after your employer has said yes to your written application; check the state table on our Bildungsurlaub page for your own deadline.
Is this course recognised in North Rhine-Westphalia or Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania?
Yes, both are recognised. Your employer may still check that state’s own rules for courses taken abroad, so apply early, and we send the recognition proof for your state before you pay.
How is this different from Super Intensive?
Super Intensive adds 5 general-purpose one-to-one hours a week to the same morning group, chosen with your teacher as you go. Intensive + Business gives you 10 one-to-one lessons of Spanish for work instead, built around a daily topic, at €350 a week against Super Intensive’s €299.
Do I need business Spanish experience to join?
No. You are placed by your Spanish level, not by your business background, through the free level test, and your teacher confirms it in class. Your own job and sector come in through the one-to-one lessons in the afternoon.
Can my company book or pay for this week?
Yes, we invoice companies directly. Our Teams option (€20 an hour per person, from 2 colleagues) is a separate course for colleagues learning together, not the Intensive + Business week. Write to us with your dates and we will tell you what we can arrange.
What do I get at the end of the week?
A certificate of attendance recording your lessons and your level, signed by the school, on your last day. For an official diploma, the DELE and Chamber of Commerce exam preparation on our Business Spanish and DELE/SIELE pages are the next step, taken separately.
