Since day one, Vamos Academy has been dedicated to providing Spanish language education that is not only enjoyable and fun, but also academically sound and grounded in contemporary evidence-based understandings of language learning. Our ability to fulfill these challenging goals is thanks entirely to our incredible staff.
Lic. Agustina Fanes
ACADEMIC DIRECTOR
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Agustina has a degree in Spanish-English translation. Agus also brings years of language teaching experience to Vamos Academy. Fluent in 3 languages (Spanish, English and Portuguese), she understands very well the challenges in language learning faced by both sides—as a student and as a teacher. She is responsible for every student’s level assessment, class planning, and the preparation of study materials. She also works closely with our teachers to ensure that the progress of each class is on track, and that students’ needs are met.
Romina
MANAGER
Romina has years of experience in team management and international live performance productions. As the manager of Vamos Academy, she wears many hats overseeing the daily operations of the school. Her main objective is to make sure that we are delivering an enjoyable, immersive experience of the Spanish language and culture to all who step through our doors. She is also a treasure trove of knowledge of Madrid. If you have a tough or odd question, she is definitely the one to talk to!
Derek
PROGRAM ADVISOR (SPANISH PROGRAM)
Originally from Wisconsin, USA, Derek graduated with a BA in Spanish and International Studies. Once a study abroad student himself and an English instructor, he enjoys working with students from all over the world looking to live the Spanish language and discover something new. Derek is the point person who will help you with questions and get you ready for our Spanish course before your arrival, and the liaison for any queries or needs during your stay.
Viki
PROGRAM ADVISOR (NON-SPANISH PROGRAM)
As Vamos Academy expands its language course offerings to also include English and French, we are happy to have Viki join our team to work with our local Spanish-speaking students who want to learn a foreign language with a native teacher without having to travel far. Originally from Venezuela, Viki speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
OUR TEACHING TEAM AT VAMOS SPANISH ACADEMY
All of our teachers are native Spanish speakers, and are university educated in the disciplines of Literature and/or language teaching. Their passion for the Spanish language is infectious in and out of the classroom. Whether you are a complete beginner or already have a solid foundation in speaking Spanish, they look forward to bringing you on board and guiding you on your very own Spanish learning journey.
